Born in the wooded heights of Ivory Canyon, Fool's Gold Creek winds its way south, skirting the outskirts of Woodbridge before flowing into the Pacific Ocean. In the 19th century, pioneers convinced they would find gold there set up their first camps, but discovered only pyrite—the famous “fool's gold”, which gave the creek its name. Today, it flows peacefully under the Fool's Gold Bridges, witnesses to the modernization of GU Route 66 and the transition from dream to reality.
