Thomas Whitaker was an English merchant and one of the founding figures of Clearfog Harbor. He played a crucial role in developing the city’s port, turning a modest colonial outpost into a growing trade hub.
Born in Bristol in 1658, Thomas Whitaker grew up in a thriving maritime environment, where he developed an early interest in trade and navigation. Drawn by the opportunities of the New World, he took part in colonial ventures across the Paciflantic in the late 17th century. Upon arriving, he formed a decisive partnership with Abraham Harrington, leader of the first settlers. While Harrington ensured the stability and organization of the community, Whitaker focused on developing trade and port infrastructure, laying the foundations of what would become Clearfog Harbor.

Fun fact:
The name Clearfog is said to come from the unusual coastal conditions observed by early settlers, where thick sea fog would suddenly lift to reveal perfectly clear views of the harbor—an effect that fascinated Thomas Whitaker and influenced the naming of the settlement.
