Originating among the forested ridges of the Utopic Hills, the Nokotha River descends northward along the hillside before carving its way through the agricultural lowlands of western Belden Island. Fed by mountain runoff and seasonal rainfall, its waters run swift and clear as they rush over a rocky bed, briefly disappearing beneath the Nokotha River Bridge along the coastal highway.
Flanked on one side by cultivated fields enclosed with white wooden fencing, and on the other by dense conifer forests clinging to the slopes, the river traces a natural boundary between the island's pastoral interior and its rugged terrain. It ultimately fans out into a broad, shallow estuary before emptying into the Paciflantic Ocean along Belden Island's northern shoreline.
Though modest in length, the Nokotha River remains one of the few permanent watercourses on the island, playing a quiet but essential role in the local landscape.
