First released to the public in 2018, the map has endeared itself to the gaming community through its relaxing universe, realistic environments and true-to-scale scale. The Grand Utopia archipelago is located in the North Atlantic Ocean, near the Canadian coasts. Its geographical position, at the crossroads of the major maritime routes linking Europe and America, has long given it a strategic and historical importance.
As a group of islands, the archipelago has no land borders. Its limits are defined exclusively by maritime and aerial boundaries. Its exclusive economic zones meet those of Canada to the west and, further south, those of the United States and Saint Pierre and Miquelon. To the east, the ocean stretches widely towards Europe.
Covering a total surface area estimated at about 15,470 km², the archipelago includes several distinct political entities. Among them, the French region of Grand Utopia — composed mainly of the island of Grand Utopia and the island of Akokan — forms the administrative and cultural core of the whole.
